Resources to Support Immigrant Families

Every family deserves to be together, no matter where they come from or what they've faced along the way. EmbraceRace has gathered some of the best resources from organizations and individuals working to help immigrant and mixed-status families stay safe, stay connected, and care for one another through uncertain times. We believe in a world where all families can live with dignity and without fear — and that belief drives everything gathered here.

This beautiful love letter is grounded in interviews with targeted communities. It includes tips for supporting children at different ages and neurodivergent children, plus helpful visuals, original books to explore with young children, and more. We Have Rights video series

This series of videos from the ACLU provides advice for what to do when ICE is outside our doors, is in our homes, stops us in our communities, and/or arrests us. The videos are geared for adults (not for young kids) and are available in English, Spanish, Urdu, Arabic, Haitian Creole, and Russian.

Esta serie de vídeos de la Unión Americana por las Libertades Civiles (o por sus siglas en inglés, ACLU) ofrece consejos sobre qué hacer cuando agentes del Servicio de Inmigración y Control de Aduanas (ICE o la migra) están a la puerta de nuestras casas, se encuentran dentro de ellas, o nos detienen en nuestras comunidades. Know Your Rights for Youth. 

These flyers and wallet cards from the organization Kids in Need of Defense provide the same Know Your Rights information as a Red Card, but in simplified language for youth. They are available in English and Spanish.

This website has a great collection of resources, including a tip sheet for conversations about ICE with kids of different ages, a flyer that speaks directly to kids, and a tool for creating a family preparedness plan, all available in both English and Spanish.
