Margaret A. Hagerman is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Mississippi State University and is a Faculty Affiliate in both the African American Studies and Gender Studies programs. Dr. Hagerman’s newly published book, White Kids: Growing Up with Privilege in a Racially Divided America (NYU Press) explores how white children learn about race in the context of their everyday lives.
