EmbraceRace staff research on classroom race talk

Recently published research by social psychologist Linda Tropp and EmbraceRace staff member Christina Rucinski finds that K-12 teachers’ concern about appearing racist predicts their willingness to engage in race talk in their classrooms. The findings suggest we need to look beyond bias as teachers’ only barrier to classroom race talk and to provide meaningful support to teachers in facilitating race-related conversations with students. Find the full research article here, or check out Christina and Linda’s guest post on the School Diversity Network blog.
