Mariah is a radical contemporary thinker and educator leading for transformational teaching and learning. She is the daughter of a charismatic, people-loving, pineapple farmer from Jamaica and a self-determined matriarch from California. Mariah identifies as a mixed nationality, bi-racial, intuitive black woman. Her first awakening was when she was five years old and tried to change her skin color white with Ivory soap to match her mother’s skin tone. It didn’t work. To this day she is relieved and proud to be a mixed race black person.

Mariah is a motivator for developing the conditions of fertile ground that grow delivered promises for dreams deferred. She is a devoted fan of contemporary artists (hoping to take a seat amongst them with her own compelling work someday) and the movement to engage critical and compelling questions to build a future we all deserve.
